Changes

When you visit somewhere for the first time in almost 5 years, you expect a certain amount of change to have occurred. And Baton Rouge is no exception. New strip malls, new food chains, new movie theaters -- and most of this was BEFORE the population explosion that resulted post-Katrina.

But I think I saw the most shocking sign of change today, as I exited Best Buy today (a Best Buy? in Baton Rouge???). I heard Japanese being spoken by a family of four. They clearly weren't tourists, either.

I wonder what they do when they want Japanese food... ('cause I can tell you, the crap they serve in the few "Japanese" restaurants in town sure as hell isn't anything I would consider to be Japanese food...)
